Funk Estate brewing team the ‘Best in the Bay’

The Society of Beer Advocates Inc. has announced Funk Estate as the best brewery in the Bay of Plenty over the weekend. Funk CEO, Jordan Evison, said that after years of working hard, the team is thrilled. “Funk has made it a personal mission to keep things fresh and funky on the craft beer scene—by thinking outside the box to consistently develop award-winning, unique quality brews.”

Funk advocates that life is too short to drink boring beer, and aim to produce a good range of beers. Their highlights for the year included ‘Jungle Boogie,’ a blood orange sour ale that placed 18th in the Great Australasian Beer SpecTAPular Top 100 Beers, as well as a blackcurrant cider called ‘Purple Rain,’ which received great feedback from consumers.
