Long a cult classic in California and a favourite reference for rappers from Ice Cube to Tupac, Fatburger is making moves to expand onto the East Coast. Fatburger, which calls itself ‘The Last Great Hamburger Stand’, first opened in Southern California over 70 years ago. Now FAT Brands Inc., the parent company of the brand, has signed a development deal to develop a Fatburger restaurant in a mall in New Jersey.

“It has been a longtime goal of ours to bring Fatburger back to the East Coast, but we knew that we had to be deliberate in our strategy,” says Andy Wiederhorn, CEO of FAT Brands. “Entering the Cherry Hill market is the perfect entry point back into the East Coast for us and we are thrilled to have found such an excellent partner in Praveen Vig.”
