FADING LAST LIGHT

The Last Light Lodge and Café is reducing its foodservice offerings, much to the dismay of Tuatapere’s residents.

The rural town lodge and café will now only be offering meals and breakfasts for guests on Friday. The reduced hours are because of a shortage of staff, said Craig Ruthland, Last Light Lodge and Café owner and chef.

Although the food services are slowing, Ruthland said that they are still encouraging people to come and make the most of the complex, including dinner, bed and breakfast requirements.
