EAST COAST COFFEE COMPANY PAYS LIVING WAGE

Far East Coffee has become the first business in the Gisborne region to become a living wage employer.

Only the second coffee company in the country to join the Living Wage Movement Aotearoa New Zealand list, Far East Coffee has five staff on their payroll.

Run by owners Steven King and Jo Pepuere, Far East Coffee started delivering their product throughout the city in 2014. It is now stocked in cafès all over the Gisborne region, and the beans and ground-coffee are still being delivered to people's front doors. As well as being living wage, all of Far East’s coffee is certified organic and fair trade.
