For nearly a century the Dunningham family has been supplying New Zealand with high quality spices and rubs. The team spoke to Geraldine about the business.
What is your company background, how did you start the business?
“D.M. Dunningham Ltd began as a spice trader in 1921 and remains owned by the Dunningham family, a New Zealand business supplying meat and fish industries locally and offshore. Dunninghams has evolved to be a leading supplier of ingredients and supplies to the food industry.”
What is the current product range and variants and how do these products stand out in the market?
“Dunninghams specialise in the production of dry blended ingredients for the meat and fish industries including coatings, sprinkles, and sausage meals. Many are gluten and dairy free products and Halal options are also available. Dunninghams offer the option of custom blending and batch sizes also. Dunninghams offer a wide range of ingredients and expertise to assist with value added options.”
Has there been any recent company news?
“The Dunninghams product development team is constantly developing new flavours and products in its product development kitchen. Products can also be custom designed to meet customer needs and the Dunninghams production facility is nut free.”
What are the plans for the business moving forward, is there any expansion on the horizon?
“Dunninghams continues to develop its ability to be a one stop shop for the retail food industry that includes machinery, packaging and ancillary supplies as well as ingredients.”
Where are your products currently available to buy, and are you looking at or wanting to expand your availability?
“Dunninghams has now launched a new food packaging range. This includes unique options that offer packaging solutions for retail and food service including takeaway containers, bakery and deli options along with food wraps. Dunninghams is the exclusive NZ supplier of this top quality iKON packaging range.”
