A new Dunkin’ Donuts store in Boston is being billed as a ‘next generation’ store, with the most notable change being the single word name ‘Dunkin’. The name change is part of a rebranding at several of the company’s stores, which is hoping to encroach on the Starbucks market by streamlining its online ordering processes and aesthetic appeal, while still serving donuts.
The new Boston store will also feature multiple high-tech drive-thru lanes which will work in conjunction with online ordering through the Dunkin’ app. “On-the-go mobile order and pay – we think is a big unlock of a number of things,” said David Hoffman, Dunkin’ Donuts president for the US and Canada.
