A UK wine bar has been fined $NZ200,000 after a woman who drank a cocktail made with liquid nitrogen had to have stomach removed. Called a Nitro-Jagermeister, the drink perforated the 18 year old’s stomach and the court found that the bar had taken no risk assessment before experimenting with the drink. Prior to the incident, a local health and safety officer had expressed concern.
