COFFEE CLUB LAUNCHES VEGAN OPTIONS

The Coffee Club New Zealand, one of the country’s largest and fastest growing café brands, is launching a new range of vegan options in order to meet growing consumer demand. The autumn menu will include three new vegan dishes and will be available in all of The Coffee Club’s 63 stores, which includes outlets in Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington and Dunedin.

The vegan options will be added to the menu as of Wednesday 21 March and will include:

Chia Seed Pot with Coconut & Almond

Almond milk, coconut cream, sliced almonds, coconut chips, and a choice of mixed berry or mango compote

Hummus & Smashed Pea Open Sourdough

Toasted sourdough with lemon and garlic hummus, smashed peas, sliced almonds and olive oil

Crispy Tofu Salad

Asian slaw, roasted red capsicum, cucumber, crispy shallots, mint and Thai basil dressing

“Kiwi customers are definitely showing signs that they’re looking to reduce the amount of meat in their diets. We have also received increasing requests for a broader vegan menu - both in-store and via our social media channels,” explained Andy Lucas, co-director and head of menu development. “We have been experimenting with plant-based flavours and ingredients over the past few months, in response to that customer feedback.”

“The new dishes will sit alongside our existing vegetarian dishes and popular dairy-free hot and cold drinks,” he added. “We have focused on using fresh, natural ingredients that are so tasty that anyone can enjoy them, not just vegans and vegetarians. We will look to further develop both the vegan and vegetarian options once we see how the new menu additions are received.”
