Chipotle receives another food safety subpoena

Chipotle Mexican Grill has received a federal subpoena regarding a food safety incident that occurred in Powell, Ohio, last year. This is the fourth subpoena that Chipotle has received regarding food safety incidents since 2016.

The incident that occurred resulted in nearly 700 people being sickened after eating food that had been left at unsafe temperatures.

This incident sent Chipotle stocks down 7 percent as of last week. This comes as a blow to Chipotle who had seen same-store sales rise 9.9 percent as of last quarter.

In an official filing, Chipotle said that they have “fully cooperated and intends to continue to fully cooperate with the investigation.”
