Change of leadership at Oriental Merchant

Oriental Merchant New Zealand general manager Chris Hutton will be leaving the company at the end of the week. Hutton was the key pioneer staff in setting up OMNZ 18 years ago.

“Her vision and tenacity have been instrumental in the growth and success of OMNZ and we sincerely thank Chris for her contribution and leadership during her tenure as General Manager,” CEO Bernard Yiu wrote in a letter to customers. “Chris’ leadership role will in the interim be passed to Simon Chong, who will assume the role of Country Manager of OMNZ. Simon will be working closely with Chris to ensure continuity and a smooth transition.”

Chong brings a wealth of experience and expertise in FMCG in various management positions in companies across Asia Pacific including Fraser and Neave, Pepsi Cola International, British American Tobacco and Oriental Merchant Australia Food Service.
