CELEBRATING HAPPINESS

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the McDonald’s Happy Meal, McDonald’s is releasing a limited-time Happy Meal offering with retro toys. Across 90 countries, stores will be selling ‘throwback’ toys, including Ty Beanie Babies’ Patti the Platypus and Tamagotchi.

This offering will be available at select stores through early-to-mid-November.

The Happy Meal was first introduced in 1979, originally named the Circus Wagon Happy Meal. New Zealand first received the Happy Meal in 1982, as did Latin America and Australia. Throughout the years, the Happy Meal has developed in line with dining trends, modernising itself to fit popular demand.
