Waitomo Homestead is getting into the spirit of classic Kiwiana with the celebration of Waitomo Pie Week—5th to the 12th of August. Locals and visitors alike can head down to participate in activities that could land them with some of the Homestead’s iconic home-baked pie. Activities will, of course, include the classic Kiwi pastime of gumboot throwing, as well as coin tossing, craft beer and pie matching, and a ‘create your own pie recipe’ competition.
The Waitomo Homestead offers travellers a great place to relax and stretch their legs on their discovery of the North Island. Waitomo Pie Week is a part of Discover Waitomo, an initiative operated by Tourism Holdings Limited to showcase New Zealand’s culture and offerings.
