Yesterday (Tuesday the 7th), the Duke of Marlborough in the Bay of Islands was evacuated after a bomb threat. The Duke of Marlborough is New Zealand’s oldest pub and is situated in the nation's first capital city, Russell. It was given the all-clear later in the afternoon.
After cordons were lifted, a police spokesperson said that there was no cause for public concern. Other services in the area were also warned to stay cautious despite people not being 100 percent sure whether the threat was a hoax or not.
