BITCOIN MILLIONAIRE DONATES TO CANNABIS CAFÉ

An anonymous millionaire who made his money through Bitcoin is paying for senior citizens to get a Gold Card discount at the Whakamana Cannabis Museum Café in Dunedin.

While nothing on the menu contains cannabis, Cannabis Museum curator Abe Gray said that the anonymous millionaire, supposedly based out of Nelson, "thought the attitude from older people is what's holding back cannabis reform, and if they could come in and see the museum and be educated, that would be good".

Laura Archer, who runs the Whakamana Café, said that the discount has been a success, and that there has been a steady stream of elderly people in the museum since the discount was announced. Many had questions about medicinal cannabis, including how it can help with Parkinson’s disease.
