Behemoth Brewing Company launches an equity crowdfunding campaign

Auckland-based Behemoth Brewing Company has launched an equity crowdfunding campaign to go towards their planned brewery space. Behemoth aims to raise a total of $3.5 million, a number comprised of $2 million from online crowdfunding, and $1.5 million from wholesale investors.

The planned brewery space will be called Churly’s, a homage to their mascot, and will combine a full-service bar and restaurant, along with a state-of-the-art brewery. The space will also house a butchery space. While this may sound like a strange combination, Behemoth’s founder, Andrew Childs plans to brew the beer, while his wife, Hannah Miller-Childs, operates the boutique butchery where they will pair beer with charcuterie.

The founding pair said, “We, as a company, strive to be hospitable in all aspects of business and treat our employees like family. Extending that family is what we look forward to most; creating an atmosphere where people can come in, relax, and be a part of our home.”

The crowdfunding campaign started June 4th to pre-registered investors and publicly on June 6th. A combined $500,000 has already been raised.
