BEER OF THE YEAR

For the second year running, Panhead Custom Ales' Supercharger APA has won the Society of Brewing Advocates' New Zealand Beer of the Year.
It's been a three year winning streak for Panhead. The Vandal took out the 2014 award, passing the baton to Supercharger the following year. Now the super-hoppy American pale ale - Panhead's top-selling brew - has made it a trifecta, capturing the prize 2016.

Designed to recognised excellence in the beer community, the Society of Beer Advocate Awards are nominated and voted on by over 1200 SOBA members across New Zealand.

"We are absolutely chuffed," said Panhead Brewery founder Mike Neilson. "This is the prize that means the most to us, as it's voted on by beer lovers who know their stuff inside out. We started Panhead because we wanted to make great beer widely available and appreciated. Getting recognised by SOBA in this category tells us we're succeeding."

Panhead Supercharger APA is available in bottles, cans and on tap throughout New Zealand.
