A winner among the Stables

Ngatarawa Stables Pinot Gris 2018 has been awarded a Gold Medal at the New Zealand Wine of the Year Awards. Previously known as the Air New Zealand Wine Awards and the Bragato Wine Awards, the New Zealand Wine of the Year Awards 2018 has a fresh approach to celebrating excellence in New Zealand wine. The awards judge the best wine based on varietal and regional categories.

“Winning this Gold Medal is a real credit to our winemaking and viticulture team, who are extremely dedicated to their craft,” said James Ostergren Ngatarawa winemaker. “They ensure full flavour and smooth body in every single bottle. It’s extremely satisfying to see their hard work acknowledged at such prestigious awards.”

Following the Pinot Gris closely at the Awards was the winery’s 2018 Gewurtztraminer, which took home a Silver Medal.

“Gentle in style, our Stables range evokes life’s simple pleasures – warmth, hospitality and conversation,” Ostergren explained. “Both of our award-winning wines are great with Asian style cuisine, seafood, white meats, fresh salads and vegetarian dishes.”
