A SPECIAL GIN

Reefton Distilling Co. has launched a limited released cask-aged gin, Little Biddy. The gin, created in honour of Little Biddy, a Reefton legendary female gold prospector, is so good it can be consumed straight.

“We receive visitors to our cellar door who announce that they don’t drink gin, who are often converted after a tasting—Little Biddy is fast becoming the gin for even those people who don’t drink gin,” said Patsy Bass, Reefton Distilling Co. managing director.

The Little Biddy Gin is robust and contains an aromatic blend of native West Coast botanicals, Tarata, Toatoa, Horopito, Rimu and Douglas fir. The gin has also matured in a rich and flavourful Pinot Noir oak cask.

Nestled away in West Coast of New Zealand, Reefton Distilling Co. is a modern distillery distinct from the wilderness of the surrounding area. Reefton’s premises date back to the 1870s, from which they produce a range of small-batch distilled premium spirits.
