Dubbed ‘New Zealand’s Rudest Café’, the Springfield Store and Café will receive a fresh start under new ownership.
Earlier this year, the café received international attention due to its shocking customer service and scathing online reviews. Then café owners, Karyn and Donald Cullingford had leased the building for a decade, but are making way for new owners, Karl Hardaker and Bronwyn Squires. One can only hope that the new ownership will mean a clean slate and that the previous bad press only encourages people to go and check out the new joint.
