42BELOW finalists named

Bartenders from across New Zealand and Australia have been named finalists for the 42BELOW Sustainable Cocktail Showcase, with 21 finalists from each country. Each finalist created a cocktail which demonstrated their unique approach to sustainability, including upclycling fruits, using old coffee grounds and using old doughnuts.

Finalists will be judged on sustainability, creativity and popularity. From now until 31st January 2019, consumers and bartenders alike can vote for their favourite cocktails via the 42BELOW Facebook or Instagram pages, ahead of two Australian and two New Zealand winners being announced on 8 February 2019.

The prize for the winners include flights to Bali to visit Gringgo, an innovative trash-tech startup that's disrupting the waste sector. The winner will tour Bali to see firsthand the impact of waste, participating in beach clean-ups, helping out at recycling plants, running a sustainability workshop and meeting leaders and innovators in the ocean-clean-up industry.
